CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY. It is essential to PRE-REGISTER. We must make a commitment to our teachers one week prior to the start of each class and so refunds will only be made for cancellations ONE WEEK or more ahead of class starting date. If a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, enrollees will receive a refund.

Becky Welch, a devoted backpacker since 1977, applies her considerable skill and artistic talent to the Glimpses of Wilderness Art Quilt Technique. She teaches in concert with well known art quilter, Lynn Rogers, whose ability with surface design exceeds all expectations. Both instructors know how to artfully combine the love of the outdoors with textile techniques. Photographs, either your own or those provided by the instructors, of Wilderness areas and/or National parks will be the inspiration and starting place for a project which will include some or all of the following techniques: thread painting, raw edge appliqué, piecing, free-motion needlelace, and fabric manipulations.

Project will include putting on a pocket, inserting a zipper, making buttonholes, working with fusible interfacing, etc. Bring 1 yard of 45” wide fabric, matching spool of all-purpose thread, and $5 pattern fee to the first class. Garment Sewing: an Introduction Nancy Lovett Six Sessions: Mondays & Thursdays, 6-8:30pm August 8 - August 25 This class is geared for those with some basic knowledge of the sewing machine who would like to learn more about garment construction. Design your own stunning fabric with paint and the sun. Using home items, food items, nature items or notion items-rubber bands, cookie cooling racks, paper clips, buttons, scissors, lace salt, rice, pastas, feathers, leaves, sea shells—virtually any item will create an interesting design on the fabric - be creative.
Take your fabric dyeing to the next level by learning to create a variety of patterns via folding, clamping, scrunching, tieing, etc! We’ll learn 12+ techniques for manipulating fabric. Prerequisite: Fabric Dyeing 101 Intermediate level

Make this cute and simple purse by Lazy Girl Designs. This fat quarter friendly purse is perfect for my small hand sewing projects or my wallet, phone and a book. We will make it with a lining, two pockets, fabric handles, and the Velcro flap closure option. The class covers bag construction only! Quilting the outer cover of the bag is an option but it must be completed prior to class. Please contact the teacher for more information if you wish to quilt your purse.

EQ7 is a quilt design software that lets you design the quilt of your dreams and gives you the planning tools to actually make the quilt. If you want to begin exploring your quilt design skills or would like to better use the EQ7 that you already have, this is a good class for you. Computer with EQ7 installed required.
Learn the basics of hand dyeing fabric as you dye a 12 step color wheel. You’ll go home with at least 3 yards of beautifully dyed fabric. Kit fee includes all fabric, chemicals, gloves and mask.

Lucy will host a volunteer sewing drive for this wonderful program. She will be teaching the construction of drawstring bags, flannel liners, and the shields that hold the liners. Donations will also be collected of the following: 1/2 yard scraps of cotton fabric for the shields and drawstring bags. Becky Welch, a devoted backpacker since 1977, applies her considerable skill and artistic talent to the Glimpses of Wilderness Art Quilt Technique. She teaches in concert with well known art quilter, Lynn Rogers, whose ability with surface design exceeds all expectations. Both instructors know how to artfully combine the love of the outdoors with textile techniques. Photographs, either your own or those provided by the instructors, of Wilderness areas and/or National parks will be the inspiration and starting place for a project which will include some or all of the following techniques: thread painting, raw edge appliqué, piecing, free-motion needlelace, and fabric manipulations.

Using home items, food items, nature items or notion items-rubber bands, cookie cooling racks, paper clips, buttons, scissors, lace salt, rice, pastas, feathers, leaves, sea shells—virtually any item will create an interesting design on the fabric - be creative.
Take your fabric dyeing to the next level by learning to create a variety of patterns via folding, clamping, scrunching, tieing, etc! We’ll learn 12+ techniques for manipulating fabric. Prerequisite: Fabric Dyeing 101 Intermediate level

We will make it with a lining, two pockets, fabric handles, and the Velcro flap closure option. The class covers bag construction only! EQ7 is a quilt design software that lets you design the quilt of your dreams and gives you the planning tools to actually make the quilt. If you want to begin exploring your quilt design skills or would like to better use the EQ7 that you already have, this is a good class for you. Computer with EQ7 installed required.
Learn the basics of hand dyeing fabric as you dye a 12 step color wheel. You’ll go home with at least 3 yards of beautifully dyed fabric. Kit fee includes all fabric, chemicals, gloves and mask.

Lucy will host a volunteer sewing drive for this wonderful program. She will be teaching the construction of drawstring bags, flannel liners, and the shields that hold the liners. Donations will also be collected of the following: 1/2 yard scraps of cotton fabric for the shields and drawstring bags. (B) June 16 Inset Piecing & Puzzle Seams This Session: $24 + tax 9:30am-12:30pm Ruth McDowell offers an incredible array of piecing techniques that will make anyone a better quilter. Using her process, we will make small sample blocks to practice different techniques each session: Y-Z seams, linear elements, curved seams, inset seams, and puzzle seams. Book required. Jelly Roll Jiggle Jan Stevenson Two Sessions: $48 + tax Friday & Saturday, June 3 & 4 1-4pm Curves ahead! Working from a fun focus fabric, choose waves of color to accent this quilt-as-you-go project. That’s right, no quilting required! When you are finished with your curves, you are ready to put the binding in place! Find a large-scale print that you love. This project will work perfectly with 2 1/2” strips as well.
