Analytical Evaporators
Analytical Evaporators The FlexiVap™ Work Station is a new line of analytical nitrogen/air evaporators developed by Yongsong Huang of Brown University and licensed/manufactured by Glas-Col, LLC. The key advantages are:
One manifold suits all standard size vials
Easy closure of any manifold position
Reduced nitrogen consumption
Complete even flow rates in all ports
Cost effective compared with existing models on the market.
They are low cost, small footprint instruments used to concentrate chemical and biochemical solutions for further analysis, or evaporate to dryness for further reactions. What makes these systems unique is the ability to open or close each position by turning the knobs on the manifold and the rack and pinion precision lab stand. Digital temperature control to 100o C is available on certain models. Product Weight (lbs)

FlexiVap If your laboratory conducts research in any of the following areas, environmental organic analysis, organic analytical chemistry, petroleum analysis, food chemistry, forensic organic analysis, organic geochemistry, and any scientific research that requires solvent reduction. FlexiVap can greatly increase your lab productivity, especially if your research requires processing large numbers of samples. You or your students will never again have the mess of setting and dragging the pipettes or needles around in a nitrogen manifold, with just one FlexiVap in your lab.
The main advantages of the device relative to those currently on the market are: - Fully flexible with all vial sizes used in a lab, with just one manifold. Vial sizes can range from the standard EPA 40 ml and 20 ml vials (e.g., those used in Dionex ASE) to 4 ml and 2 ml vials. There are two model sizes, one model can simultaneously evaporate solvent from 24 EPA (40 ml) vials or 48 (4 ml) vials, another model can deal with half the number of vials simultaneously. You will only need one system in your lab to meet all solvent evaporation needs from all different vial sizes. The larger size model will handle 24 large vials from ASE simultaneously - same as TurboVap®, but the FlexiVap is far more flexible (see below).
- Easy open and close of any individual gas port and allows individual flow adjustments. If you do not need to use any gas ports, shut down the specific ports easily: you will save nitrogen gas and avoid contamination from dust stirred up by unused ports. - Complete equal flow rates from all ports (regardless how many ports are open or closed), so all your samples are blown down simultaneously and avoid overheating of sensitive compounds in early-dried up samples. - Automatic holding of needle positions with a high quality jacking stand. Easily adjust the height of needle positions. Easy cleaning of needles, no chance of blowing away your samples due to nitrogen outbursts. - Much lower cost than other evaporators on the market.

Analytical Evaporators Glas-Col’s New Smaller Digital Pulse Mixer with Evaporator/Concentrator: This system is designed to rapidly evaporate/concentrate solvents by both heating the sample bottom and the incoming nitrogen. Each position is furnished with an individual needle for the best possible delivery of gas. The pulsing feature that is selectable allows a film of solvent to be thrown on the sidewall; then the vortex collapses. Next the vortex again is created and the process continues until the concentration level is achieved providing the quickest method of solvent evaporation. This unit takes up less bench space compared to other concentrators. The beauty of this system is the flexibility to change sample size. The system is furnished with the 2 heat block chambers and then you select the polypropylene manifold and aluminum block to fit your application. Changing to another size of vial takes only a few minutes.
The Digital Pulse Mixer/Evaporator has the following features:
Micro-processor based control technology Speed 150 to 1000 rpm, Speed Setting Increment: 10 RPM 4-line back-lit LCD display Built-in digital timer (seconds: 1-60, minutes: 1-60, hours: 1-24) User selectable pulse profile (Pulses-per-minute: 1-100), Ppm-duty-cycle: 1-99 % Timer and Pulse mode may be combined. Communication port (USB) Membrane switch user interface (4-button) Soft Start/Stop of motor Optional software for real time data acquisition Orbital offset .070” Set point temperature for Bottom Blocks (120oC Max) Flow meter located on left side of mixer A fine needle valve for flow control is provided on each manifold
