HEAVY-DUTY BALL SCREW All Andi CNC Routers us a precision ground ball screw drive on the X and Y axis. Being precision ground rather than rolled, the Anderson ballscrew will maintain its accuracy, which in CNC machining is a necessity. The precision ballscrew is equipped with an anti-backlash ballnut for increased accuracy. The heavier ball screw reduces vibration that can severely reduce tool life and provide poor finish quality. INDUSTRIAL CNC CONROLLER Anderson use FANUC industrial CNC controllers on all of their machines. The FANUC is the most reliable controller available on the market. Some other builders use a PC controller which is more susceptible to the 3 dangers of CNC controls: DUST, NOISE, & VIBRATION. All of these factors reek havoc on CNC controls and can cause major malfunction in NC programs. The new “i” series controls have increased program storage capacity, faster machining speeds, and have become more user friendly.
HEAVY-DUTY BOX WAYS On all Exxact series, Anderson use heavy-duty box ways for all X and Y-axis movements. The box way combined with the tank-type roller bearing provides the most stable transition for all moving parts. The tank-style bearing which rides on the box way provides more positive contact as there is more surface area in contact with the way. Many other builders use linear guide rails, which are not as sturdy as the industrial box ways. With the linear guide system you do not have as much bearing contact with the way which provides more opportunity for vibration. ELECTROSPINDLE Anderson use a heavy-duty 10HP electrospindle as standard on all of their machines. Anderson have their own spindle testing faciliy which put each spindle through rigorous testing before being accepted for their machines. This drastically reduces the likelihood of spindle malfunction. No other builder goes to the extent that Anderson does in maintaining spindle quality.
LUBRICATION Spindle and table lubrication is done through the use of air-oil-mist lubrication, which is the undisputed best method of lubrication available of the market. This provides an immediate and consisten flow of lubrication to all major moving parts. In addition, it forces the contaminated oil out. Oil lubrication, which is used by many other builders, does not supply an immediate flow of lubrication to the spindle upon spindle and machine start-up. This can cause detrimental wear to these very important areas of the machine. Anderson's AIR-OIL-MIST lubrication system provides a consistent amount of lubrication for the ultimate protection of the major wear parts of the machine. VACUUM TABLE All Anderson machines come standard with a heavy-duty phenolic machine table. The phenolic bed is machined completely by the router so as to provide a perfectly aligned machining surface. Phenolic has an advantage over aluminum, as it is a denser material that will not flex under the full force of the vacuum and is not affected by change in surrounding temperature. The phenolic bed also has the advantage that is can be re-machined if a programming error occurs where the cutter goes into the bed. Underneath the phenolic bed there is a large plenum or air chamber that runs throughout the table that ultimately provides the best possible atmosphere for vacuum holddown.

HEAVY DUTY MACHINE CONSTRUCTION The basic construction of the Anderson machine frame is made up of massive welded steel bases with heavy-duty reinforcements for superior strength and rigidity. This machine structure resists high levels of vibration, which ensures high quality output. When the machine base is manufactured Anderson grind and mill the face where the ways sit. This is done on a large milling machine to ensure each way support is extremely level and accurate. When mounting the bridge supports, the top of the support is machined to ensure parallelism. Other builders use shims to level their bridge, which can cause vibration as the shims move out of position. Z-AXIS COUNTERBALANCE Anderson use a pneumatic cylinder counter balance system to provide stable and reliable counter balance for the spindle. This is a superior method than what is used by our competition.

COMPREHENSIVE OPERATIONS & PARTS MANUAL Anderson has developed a well-documented operations and parts manual, which includes an in-depth description of the machine specifications and electrical information. The parts manual consists of an 11x17" drawing of each part that is referenced to the part description. The part description outlines the Anderson part number, description, and the OEM's part number. This allows the operator to source the part locally as many of the parts on the Anderson machine can be located from local distributors. The operator can also purchase the part from Anderson, which maintains a large inventory of all wear parts.
