Ann’s Lyrical Christmas Quilt General Instructions – Bauble Row Cut 1 – 6 1/4” x 32 1/2” rectangle of red sashing/border fabric. (This will be trimmed in the final assembly step.) Cut 1 – 9 1/2” x 32 1/2” rectangle of light gray background fabric. Sew these two strips together along one long edge. Tape the 5 pattern sections together along the dotted red lines. Place the pattern on a light source such as a light box. Place the red/gray unit over the pattern. The top of the gray fabric will run through the holly leaves. A few of the holly leaves will extend into the red border at the top. Be sure to center the pattern under the background fabric. Be sure the wrong side of the background fabric is up. The right side will be down on the pattern. Trace the pattern onto the wrong side of the background fabric using a #2 lead pencil. Appliqué using the Quick Prep Appliqué Method (a form of back basting). When complete: Cut 1 – 1 1/2” x 32 1/2” strip of red sashing/border fabric. Stitch to the bottom of the appliqued unit along one long edge. Stitch one dark gray row of holly to the other side of the 1 1/2” x 32 1/2” strip of red sashing/border fabric. (This assumes that you have stitched at least one dark gray row of holly.)
