Friends of Rider Swimming & Diving Each year, funds raised from the Friends of Rider Swimming & Diving Golf Outing play a significant role in supporting all aspects of the program; team travel, annual winter training trip, assistant coaches’ salaries and the purchase of training equipment and competitive gear. The success of our teams in the pool over the last 15 years has allowed us to travel to prestigious championship competitions like the 2012 USA Swimming Olympic Team Trials, USA Swimming National Championships and USA Diving Nationals. Our goals are to develop into perennial conference champions and to participate and score at the NCAA Division I Championships while promoting a culture of character development and academic excellence that prepares our team for life after Rider.

Men Win 5th Consecutive MAAC Championship Title, Women 2nd

Annual Golf Outing

Led by four individual winners on the last night of the meet, and a fifth conference and team relay record, the Rider University men’s swimming and diving team capped off an undefeated dual meet season by clinching its fifth straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship while the Bronc women placed runner-up in a nine team race. Zack Molloy ’18 was named the MAAC Male Swimmer of the Meet by winning three MAAC gold medals (100 free, 200 free, 500 free). Molloy also set a Rider and MAAC record in the 200 free (1:36.87) and was part of four MAAC and Rider record-setting relays, the 200 medley, the 800 free, the 200 free and the 400 free. Combined in 2016, Rider swimmers and divers broke twelve school records and seven MAAC Championship meet records while adding 45 performances to our All-Time Top 10 Times list. Four underclassmen women (T. Stalnaker ’19, J. Runk ’18, A. Palmer ’17 and J. Parker ’17) combined to reset the school record in the 200 medley relay and Runk broke the school record in the 100 breaststroke, a 13 year old mark. Zack Molloy ’18 (200 free), William Molloy ’17 (200 free), Matthan Martir ’17 (50 free) and Adam Phillips ’16 (100 breast) each earned NCAA “B” standards in their events. Joe Warker ’19 won the three-meter event at the ECAC Championships to support a third place men’s team finish at ECAC’s, and both Warker and Wayco Bailey ’16 qualified for the NCAA Zone A Championships.
