Keynote Speaker: Michael J. Hicks, PhD “2017 Mid-Year Economic Update” Michael J. Hicks, PhD is the George and Frances Ball distinguished professor of economics and the director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at Ball State University. He previously served on the faculty of the Air Force Institute of Technology’s Graduate School of Engineering and Management and at research centers at Marshall University and the University of Tennessee. Dr. Hicks will present a forecast of the national and state economy through 2017, with particular focus on the rationale for expected policy interventions by the Federal Reserve. He will also describe the role potential changes to federal tax policy (including ACA changes) will play on the domestic economy.
