Teaching Applications + Downloading Applications STEP 1:

Discussion

Describe the purpose of Applications

Identify applications already installed on the device

Discuss common applications with the participant

Identify apps that the participant may enjoy Ask what they are interested in. (hobbies, tv shows, newspapers, etc )

STEP 2:

Show

Show the participant how to locate the App store on device

Search for AARP. Discuss app ratings, comments and pricing

Download and install the AARP app

STEP 3:

Do

Assist the participant with locating the App store

Assist the participant with searching for an app based upon their interests from the discussion

Assist participant in downloading an app based upon their interests from the discussion

STEP 4:

Review

Have the participant locate the App store

Have the participant with search for an app based upon their interests

Have participant download the an app

Report Back Once you’re done, head back to the “Be a Digital Coach” page and report your story for a chance to be featured on www.mentorup.org or win a $10,000 scholarship.
