Welcome to the 2017 Department of the Navy Forum for SBIR/STTR Transition (FST). Once again the FST is co-located with the Navy League’s Sea-Air-Space Exposition. All the exhibits, all the interesting speakers and panels, all the excitement – all under one roof! In the FST Exhibit Hall (Woodrow Wilson Ballroom) 99 small businesses will be showcasing their SBIR/STTR Phase II technologies. So before (or after) you visit the Sea-Air-Space exhibits make sure to come upstairs to see the future technologies of our naval forces. Innovation delivered – don’t miss it! On Monday and Tuesday, each of the exhibiting SBIR companies will discuss their technologies. This year, for your convenience, we have grouped related technologies into clusters. Each cluster will host a number of 10-minute, mini-presentations – called “Tech Talks”. See pages 9-11 for dates and times of each presentation. Highly informative, yet time efficient! Not sure what technologies you want to see? Visit one of our Information Booths (look for the Blue & Gold FST Logo) and search for companies or technologies using our Virtual Transition Marketplace (VTM) kiosk or visit the VTM on your smartphone or mobile device – go to NavyFST.com/vtm. See or hear something that you like? Schedule a one-on-one meeting with any of the FST exhibiting companies that catch your interest. This can also be done through the VTM.

Thanks for coming to the FST! 3

Now in its seventeenth year, the Forum for SBIR/STTR Transition (FST) remains focused on highlighting the technologies and small businesses that participate in the Department of the Navy’s SBIR/STTR Transition Program (STP). This 10-month program is designed to promote the transition of DoN-funded Phase II SBIR/STTR technologies to military systems and defense industry programs of record. This event is centered on four key aspects to facilitate that transition: » Seeing the Small Businesses on the Exhibit Floor (Woodrow Wilson Ballroom)

» Hearing the Small Businesses present during “Tech Talks” (Annapolis 1-4)

» Meeting the Small Businesses in a one-on-one setting (Baltimore Meeting Rooms)

» Understanding the processes and challenges from our Keynotes/Panels (Cherry Blossom Ballroom)

Use this program book to guide your exploration of the Forum and the opportunities it presents. On the following pages you will find a detailed floor plan of the Gaylord Convention Center and the FST areas, a comprehensive schedule of events for all three days, and information about how to meet and listen to the 99 small business discussing 107 projects funded by SBIR/STTR.

INFORMATION DESK If you have a question, cannot find a resource, or need directions to your next event please visit the Information Desk located in the main hallway leading from the Atrium to the FST area or our satellite Information Desk near the SAS Registration area. Each location has a computer kiosk available for you to search technologies on the Virtual Transition Marketplace (VTM) or make on-the-spot requests for a one-on-one meeting with one of the small businesses.

EXHIBIT HALL All 99 small businesses are exhibiting in the Woodrow Wilson Ballroom (FST Exhibit Hall). Browse through all of the aisles to ensure that you see all of the Technology Areas represented. Looking for a specific company or technology? Use the exhibit floor plan and the small business guides located on pages 12-15 to find specific companies or Technology Areas. The same information is also available online – visit our kiosks at the Information Desks or view it online at NavyFST.com/exhibits. New this year: download the FST App to your smartphone and carry all the details with you! Don’t forget to visit our government booths located inside the Exhibit Hall. Representatives from Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), the Navy’s Technology Transfer (T2) ORTAs, the Missile Defense Agency and the U.S. Army’s SBIR/STTR Program are available to answer small business integration questions or to highlight opportunities for technology transfer.

SMALL BUSINESS “TECH TALKS” This year each small business will be presenting a “Tech Talk” in one of the 21 Technology Areas. These 10-minute overviews of their SBIR/STTR topic cover the technology developed, the need they fulfill, the defense program application, the transition path, and an overview of the small business. The 21 Technology Areas provide conveniently grouped companies by topic – review the schedule on pages 9-11 of this guide to find the topics which interest you. Follow up with the small businesses after their presentations or, better yet, schedule a one-on-one meeting with them for an opportunity to meet in a quiet setting without interruptions.

ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS

This year our one-on-one meeting space is adjacent to the Exhibit Hall in the Baltimore meeting rooms. We have ample space for you to sit down and discuss, in a semi-private area, opportunities and technologies with our small businesses. By utilizing our online meeting request scheduler you can instantly see time slots when the small business is available to meet with you without schedule conflicts or interruptions. Visit one of our Information Desks and use one of our Internet Kiosks to set up your meeting on site or navigate to eiseverywhere.com/esocial/215155 in advance from your computer or smartphone.

VIRTUAL TRANSITION MARKETPLACE

Don’t forget…the VTM is available at all times for you to search, research, and connect with the participating small businesses and Navy Technology Transfer programs. It’s as easy as 1–2–3. Don’t miss the chance to see a technology that could impact a Navy or USMC Program, System, or Platform – these companies are just steps away!

PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography/videography will take place throughout the event; by attending the FST, attendees authorize the use of these images for future use by the Department of the Navy.

TELL US WHAT YOU THINK

We would love to receive feedback on your experience at FST. Tell us what worked or how we can do even better next year! Did you find a particular Keynote, Panel or Small Business presentation intriguing? What are your thoughts on FST partnering with Sea-Air-Space? Let us know! Take our event survey online at: surveymonkey.com/r/CJQMYWT. Upon completion of the survey you will be given the opportunity to receive a digital copy of the 2017 FST Attendee list via email.
