The State Board of Education believes that every student upon completion of their secondary education shall be prepared for postsecondary educational opportunities and to pursue their career goals. What is meant by “college and career ready?”

College & Career Ready •  In 1973, individuals with a high school education or less made up 72 percent of the nation’s workforce. •  By 2020, 65 percent of all jobs will require some form of postsecondary education or training.
