Nebraska has received a State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG) to support increased achievement and positive behavior for children with disabilities and their non‐disabled peers.
PBiS is a behavior based and research validated process that increases the capacity of schools, families, and communities to develop preventive, proactive, positive environments. The process focuses on building school-wide, classroom and individual systems of support general enough to assist all students, but focused enough to provide students at risk individual help.

Whole school approaches like PBiS can change the climate of a school building. When implemented with fidelity, PBiS creates an orderly, positive and well managed environment and reduces the likeliness that the problems characteristically presented by at risk students will escalate out of control.
