ARLINGTON SOUTHWEST LITTLE LEAGUE

April 28th, 2017 RE: Pool Play Tie-Breakers All, This is to make all managers of kid-pitch teams of the tie-breaking system that will be used to determine seeds into the end of season tournament. 1) 2)

The final 3 games of the regular season were dedicated pool-play games. All other games are disregarded for the purpose of seeding into the tournament. All teams of a single division will be seeded based on wins and losses in those 3 pool-play games. In the event of a tie in the pool play results, the following methods will be used (in order) to break the tie(s). a. To break a tie between two teams: i. Head to Head during pool-play games ii. Result vs. common opponent during pool-play games iii. Little League’s run differential ratio system, which is explained in the Little League Rule Book. iv. Coin Toss b. To break a tie between more than two teams, the following processes will be used. NOTE: We will break ties with more than two teams by determining 1 tie-break winner at a time. At the point in which there are only two teams left, please see the above process for breaking a two-team tie. i. Head to Head (if 1 of the teams have defeated all other tied teams) ii. Result vs. common opponent during pool-play (if one team defeated an opponent that defeated all other tied teams) iii. Little League’s run differential ratio system, which is explained in the Little League Rule Book. iv. Random Process (if 3 teams, coin toss and odd side wins. If more than 3 teams, we will draw numbers from a bucket). NOTE: For the Random Process: we will not attempt to bring all involved managers together for this. Hazem and D will meet to perform this. 1. EXCEPTION: If the Random Process is needed for any tie-breaking scenario in the Hank Aaron Division, Hazem will excuse himself from the process and D will work with Danny Harvey to complete this.

Thank you, and as always, please let us know if you have any questions, Hazem Saleh [email protected] (817) 903-6166
