2016 ASWLL Batting Cage Policy The batting cages have been donated by Arlington Southwest Little League and will be available for use by permit/reservation only. When not in use, the cages will remain locked; permit holders will have the current combination (changed weekly) and will be required to lock the gate when they leave. Reservations for the cages can be made by e mail only at [email protected]. Please print a copy of your reservation/email confirmation and have it with you when using the facility. Kid and coach-pitch teams this fall will be allowed to reserve one slot up to three weeks in advance in 60 minute increments. If slots are still open within 7 days, all teams will be offered additional slots on a first come, first served basis (by reservation). Our goal is to find a weekly time that works for all teams to reserve on a regular basis. The cages will be open on game nights from 6:00 – 6:30pm on a first come, first served basis. Beginning at 6:30pm, the cages will used for teams warming up for 7:45pm games. Players are NOT allowed in the cages without adult coach supervision and all players must wear batting helmets at all times while inside the gates of the cages. Only one player hitting in each cage at a time. Below is the batting cage schedule on game nights. ONLY kid-pitch teams will be able to use the cages. Teams playing 6:00pm games: Green 1 and Green 2

     

There will be no batting cage police. We ask that you share the asset. Abuse of the privilege will result in the forfeiting of its use. Additionally, if you continually reserve a hitting time and do not show up, you will forfeit the opportunity to reserve. The combinations are NOT to be given out except to your coaches only, however managers are ultimately responsible. Managers are responsible to lock the cages after completion of your assigned hitting practice. There are NO metal spikes allowed in the batting cages. Warm up throwing/pitching as well as soft toss/pickle ball hitting around the outside or near the cages during practice time or on game days is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. ONLY one adult (pitching) and one player (hitting) in the cage at a time. NO additional adults or players are allowed in the cage during any “live” hitting session. MOST IMPORTANTLY, use the cages safely. With 44 kids (4 teams x 11 kids per team) all standing in close proximity, each with a bat in hand, please emphasize safety. Our recommendation is that if the player is not batting, all other bats should not be in the hands of players to avoid any potential issues.
