ENTRANCE PRELUDE WELCOME, REGISTRATION OF ATTENDANCE AND ANNOUNCEMENTS CHORAL INTROIT
“O Worship the King”
*GREETING L: You have called us to this place, O Lord. P: Each one of us is unique, with differing gifts and talents. L: Yet each talent represented here is valuable in God’s realm. P: Lord, help us find ways in which to use our talents for healing and hope. L: Come, let us praise the Lord who has called us here. P: Let us open our hearts and spirits to God’s word for us. *HYMN — 660 (UMH)
“God is Here”
GATHERING PRAYER Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves; when our dreams have come true because we have dreamed too little; when we arrived safely because we have sailed too close to shore. Disturb us, Lord, when with the abundance of the things we possess, we have lost our thirst for the water of life. Stir us, Lord, to dare more boldly, to venture on wider seas, where storms will show your mastery; where losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes and to push us into the future in strength, courage, hope and love. Amen.
*All able, please stand.
PRAYER RESPONSE– 347 (UMH)
“Spirit Song”
O Let the Son of God enfold you with his Spirit and his love. Let him fill your heart and satisfy your soul. O let him have the things that hold you, and his Spirit like a dove will descend upon your life and make you whole. YOUNG PEOPLE’S TIME SONG—2233 (TFWS)
