Are you a good listener? Asbury is starting a new congregational care ministry, Stephen Ministry, where trained lay people listen and pray with people going through stressful times. If you are a good listener and want to share God's love with people going through difficult times, contact Eric Bowman or Mike Campbell for an application. Training for Stephen Ministers will begin in January where you learn how to provide confidential one-to-one care. Questions? Give Food, Share Jesus' Love During the month of November, the preschool and church will be combining efforts to collect food for local food pantries. We have set a goal of collecting 500 pounds of food during the month of November. Please bring in your nonperishable items and share God's love with those in need.
Thanks And Giving—Today in the fellowship hall! Join us and other Broadneck churches for an ecumenical service project. On Sunday, Nov 22nd at 4:00 pm we will gather with other churches in Asbury's Fellowship Hall to package meals for those in need. The event will conclude with a short worship service at 5:00 pm. Can't be there but still want to help? You can make a donation to help pay for the meals. Make checks payable to Asbury with "meal packaging" in the memo line. Winter Relief at Asbury is December 28, 2015—January 4, 2016 The Winter Relief shelter program falls under the umbrella of the Arundel House of Hope, which provides temporary, transitional and safe housing, and medical and financial assistance, to the homeless population in Anne Arundel County.
