Keeping Active

27th April, 2018

Year 2 Gardening Club Our Year 2 gardening club has begun, following the Easter break. The children are very eager to prepare the outdoor area, to make it look fabulous for the summer months ahead. They have already started by weeding and preparing the planters for new compost and plants.

Summer Massingham, in Miss Locklan’s Year 3 class, stayed active in the Easter holidays by joining Wildcats football coaching set up by South Shields F.C. Foundation. The 16 week course for girls aged 5-11, only costs £1 per session and takes place on a Friday evening from 5-6pm, Summer has absolutely loved the We will be getting some new first few sessions, said it was great fun and bark for the garden area too, another good way of keeping active and learning something new. so keep checking the garden as

you pass it, to see how hard the children have been working.

Year Group Attendance

Each week, we will be adding the attendance, as a %, for each of our year groups in school, to the website home page. The target for children is 95% attendance, across the year.

Lateness Since beginning to monitor punctuality more closely, there has been a huge improvement in our children arriving on time for the school day. All children should be on the premises by the first bell at 8:50am and in the building by 8:55, before the various entrances are closed.

Holidays in Term Time As you know, the Government’s stance on holidays in term time is that they should only be authorised in exceptional circumstances. We would ask all parents/carers to consider this very carefully before planning a holiday in term time. Following this guidance, we will not authorise holidays in term time. A fine may be issued in such circumstances that a child is taken on holiday outside of school holiday time.
