Parent Governor Election As we have more than one nominee for the post of Parent Governor, an election will be held next week. Ballot papers will be sent out to each parent/carer on Monday 6th November. Achievements If your child has achieved something special outside of school, then why not let us know about it? Either note down the achievement and send it into school, marked for the attention of Mrs Todd, or email me directly at [email protected]

We look forward to hearing from you!

WORLD CHAMPION! Zak Thorpe, in Miss Humphrey’s Year 6 class, went to Italy to compete in the Unified World Championship Kickboxing Tournament over the half term break. He took part in 3 different categories and won gold in the 32kg points category and silver in the 32kg light continuous category. Here is Zak, posing for a photo on top of the podium, following the presentation of his gold medal. The medal is huge and is very heavy! We are all incredibly proud of your achievement Zak. Ashley’s very own World Champion! Football Award Gabriella Stonehouse, in Year 1, has once again won player of the day award, for her football skills. Well done Gabriella, you're now aiming for your hat trick of awards.

Congratulations to all of this week’s winners!

Spooky Disco The Spooky Discos went very well on Thursday, with some fantastic costumes and very spooky children (and staff!). We raised a brilliant £365 for the school fund. Thanks to everyone for collecting their children on time, especially at the end of the later disco.

Football Match Our football team produced another stunning win on Wednesday night, beating Cleadon 5-0. The boys played brilliantly as a team, but a special mention must go to Owen Waite, who scored a peach of a goal from the half way line! The team is in action again on 15th November. Good luck for the next match!

Cross Country Event On Thursday, 12 of our Year 3 children participated in the South Tyneside cross Country Festival, at Temple Park. They all tried their best, didn’t give up and even finished with smiles on their faces. Well done kids!!!
