Association of Fundraising Professionals Your Resource for Development Education and Networking in San Diego County Invest in Earning Your Certificate as a Fundraising Executive (CFRE) through AFP
Designed to help development professionals take their knowledge and careers to the next level, AFP San Diego is offering a CFRE Refresher Course on September 26, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This intensive workshop will be presented by Amy Parrott, CFRE, an award-winning former President of AFP San Diego. Parrott is Director of Individual and Planned Gifts at SAN DIEGO ZOO GLOBAL and has raised more than $10 million dollars to build exhibits at the San Diego Zoo. Participants will review case studies in the six domains of fundraising and the core principles and concepts employed by advanced professionals. These include current and prospective donor research, securing gifts, relationship building, volunteer involvement, leadership and management, and ethics, accountability, and professionalism. Participants will receive a manual, about 8 hours of instruction, and are eligible for 6.75 continuing education points. The fee for members is $299 and $369 for nonmembers. Profile: Introducing Our VP, Resource Development Dale Ganzow has dedicated hundreds of hours to support a stronger San Diego community. This year, Dale is serving on the AFP San Diego Board as Vice President, Resource Development, heading the Resource Development Committee and in charge of securing chapter grants and National Philanthropy Day sponsorships. Originally from Wisconsin, Dale has lived in Milwaukee, Sacramento, Kansas City, San Francisco, Chicago, and Silicon Valley before arriving in San Diego ten years ago when became Sales Manager for the San Diego Business Journal. He has held a number of local and national sales positions with business journals, has worked for a national trade publisher, and has owned eight corporate and leisure travel agencies in Silicon Valley, Carmel, and Dallas. His involvement in the community includes: Vice Chair of the Board, Walden Family Services; Advisory Board and Chair of the Leadership Council, Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank; Board Member, San Diego Employers Association; Board Member, South County Economic Development Council; Board Member, North County Economic Development Council; Advisory Board Member, Assistance League of North County; PR Committee Member, Salvation Army; Advisory Council, Classics 4 Kids; Advisory Council, San Diego Performing Arts League; and Member, San Diego Downtown Breakfast Rotary. Dale consistently provides practical guidance to AFP from a business perspective. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, travel and food.
