The sun is shining at ATCC!
A few words from our Chairman Mike Thomas: We are now well into our cricket season and the beau ful weather has certainly had its effect on our pitches. It has enabled all our teams to score plenty of runs, but unfortunately it has also assisted the opposi on. With limited availabili es the team captains have had a difficult me in pu ng out our strongest teams and my thanks to them all for their pa ence in team selec on. However, it’s been great to see both young and older players enjoying playing cricket at the Park and Marston. Thank you to all of you who responded to our Future ATCC survey earlier in the season. We had over 130 replies and overwhelmingly you told us how much you love our club. We have listened to your views and our commi ee members are all working hard to provide the best possible ac vi es both on and off the field. A summary of the final survey will be released shortly.

We hope you have already started to no ce the changes happening at the club. Jeremy Degnan is taking a close look at all cricket ma ers and has already started to consider strategies to improve both the quality and standard of cricket, as well as developing an improved coaching approach. Richard Haxell and Andy Passman are working hard to develop new events that you will enjoy and also to improve systems and processes at the club. Finally we are looking at our clubhouse, grounds and facili es to make sure these are the best they can be so you can con nue to play and enjoy our fabulous ground. Under the management of Cherie Thompson , the clubhouse and bar are now open on many evenings and weekends so we can talk cricket whilst enjoying some fine ale with all our members. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Cricket AM at Sky TV and would like thank Danny Thompson for arranging such an amazing ou ng for the club. I look forward to the rest of the season both in Ampthill and Marston and remember we are “the finest club in the world”.

Firstly we enjoyed an amazing morning out at Sky TV’s Cricket AM along with cricket superstars Devon Malcolm, Azhar Mahmood, and Tony Cozier. Over 40 club members travelled to the Sky Studios in Isleworth and it was great to see the club so well represented. With Johnnie Marsh and Andy Passman showcasing their quiz skills, it was a morning we will remember for years to come. You may also have seen us at Ampthill Fes val. For the first me, we decided at very short no ce to take the opportunity to showcase the club and its facili es. We were keen to a ract new players to the club and had over 95 children and adults taking part in our fun net ac vi es. Huge congratula ons to Max Burrell for the winning score of 11 who enjoyed his prize of an evening out watching Northampton Steelbacks vs Somerset

Youth News
News from our current Head of Youth - Graeme Presswell: A er a slow start to the season, all the Youth sides have now played most of their fixtures. The U16's finished runners up in their League, losing the tle decider in the final game to Luton Town & Indians. Jake Duxbury recorded the best ba ng performance with 72 against Leighton Buzzard. The U10's are currently 2nd in their league but Cli on will be run away winners of the division. The U10's have played well winning 4 of their 7 games plus an exci ng e with Biggleswade. Several of the side are already playing hard ball cricket and should form the core of a good U12 side next year. The U12's and U14's have all had 'mid table' seasons winning some and losing some. Patrick Brooke and Will Murray have been scoring the runs in the U12's and Liam Everi has hit a great run of form scoring three 50's for the U14's alongside his County runs and some good performances for the weekend adult sides. The top wicket takers in the U12's are Ben White (9) Sam Wilson (9) and Ka e Roberts (7). Kieran Duxbury and Sam Clipstone have taken 9 a piece in U14 cricket and both have had successful introduc on to the adult sides with Kieran bagging 8 wickets at an average of 20 in the Saturday 4ths. The Youth League seasons will finish in the next couple of weeks but coaching will con nue through August and there will be plenty of opportuni es to play in the Adult sides as the holiday season starts. Keep us informed of your availability if you fancy a game—Graeme
