Local Suppliers Quality Ingredients Our policy of sourcing ingredients locally has many benefits. It means food traceability is more reliable from our suppliers. Food also travels less distance and can be fresher, tastier and more nutritious. Fewer food miles is good for the environment and is great news for the local economy and people of Derbyshire!
WE HAVE ACHIEVED THE SOIL ASSOCIATION FOOD FOR LIFE BRONZE STANDARD CATERING MARK
To achieve this
• At least 75% of dishes on the menu are freshly prepared (on site or at a local hub kitchen) from unprocessed ingredients.
• All meat is from farms which satisfy UK animal welfare standards. • No fish are served from the Marine Conservation Society “fish to avoid” list. • Eggs are from free range hens. • No undesirable additives or artificial trans fats are used. • No genetically modified ingredients are used. • Free drinking water is prominently available. • Menus are seasonal and in-season produce is highlighted. • Information is on display about food provenance.

The Pupil Premium For children of any age, if you receive certain benefits or have a household income below the government threshold it is really important that you register your entitlement with your local education office so that your child’s school can receive extra funding called the “Pupil Premium”. This is worth £1,300 per pupil and applies equally to those starting in reception or in years 1 and 2. You can claim free school meals for your older children too. To find out, contact your local education office with your name, date of birth and National Insurance number. Again this will ensure your school benefits from the “Pupil Premium”.
