Our Time Here This was the first house I looked at when I was looking to relocate to Herne Bay and I instantly fell in love with it. I'm from New Zealand and this property reminded me of the homes there: timber houses with large windows offering plenty of light and space. It looked like a little bit of New Zealand to me, and I've been very happy here for the past 8 years. The property was built to be as eco-friendly as possible, and is very energy efficient. The light, airy feel and open plan makes this a great house for entertaining in. I particularly love the kitchen, which looks out over a beautiful private square, which is one of Herne Bay's lovely little secrets. The location is excellent; the house is just a 10 minute walk from the town centre and about 50 paces to the seafront! I love sailing so being near the water has been very important to me. Herne Bay has a nice, community feel and, after living in London for 20 years, I’ve enjoyed getting to know people! Everybody is very friendly in the local area, and there are lots of lovely independent shops here; including my own coffee shop that I set up 4 ½ years ago. Sadly, we don't need a three-storey house anymore, so we are looking for something a little bit smaller now. I am hoping to stay in the immediate area because I love it here and can’t imagine living anywhere else!
