Wendy Lawrence graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1981. types of helicopters and has made more than 800 shipboard landings. After earning a master’s degree in ocean engineering from MIT and WoodsHole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), Lawrence was selected as an astronaut in 1992 and worked at NASA for 14 years. A veteran of four shuttle missions (STS-67, 86, 91 and 114), she has logged over 50 days in space. Her last pection and repair of the shuttle orbiter’s thermal protection system. Currently, she works part-time at Space Camp and the Kennedy Space Center-
