• To cut strips from a regular ¼ yard, first cut it into 14" x 9" pieces. • Next cut twelve 1 ½" x 14" strips from these 14" widths.

• Carefully press the fabric, misting it with a water spray to pre-shrink. • Cut two strips:

14" x fabric width (selvage to selvage).

• Sub-cut the 14" wide strips into 1 ½" x 14" pieces.

• Cut twelve strips of the lightest color value. • Label these #1.

• Cut twelve strips of the medium color value. • Label these #2.

• Cut twelve strips of the darkest color value. • Label these #3.

• Sew strip sets as directed in the pattern instructions and proceed with your project.
