The final week of the regular season sees a three-way race for the HHC title. Pendleton Heights and New Palestine split two games last weekend, with NP winning the opener 4-2 and PH the nightcap 6-0, to remain tied for the HHC lead at 9-3. New Castle, after a split with Shelbyville, is one game back at 8-4. Pendleton Heights visits Delta on Friday. New Castle hosts New Palestine on Saturday. New Castle’s Mason Gillis had the dramatic moment of the weekend, st hitting a walk-off grand slam to win the Trojans’ 1 game against Shelbyville 8-5. The Golden Bears won the nightcap 8-7. Greenfield-Central and Mt. Vernon played the longest game of the conference season, an 11-inning contest that was scoreless until the th Marauders plated two in the top of the 11 . Starters Ryan Beck and Drey Jameson matched dual shutouts but got no-decisions. Delta won the Delaware County Tournament championship, beating Yorktown and Daleville in the Saturday tournament. Tanner Lambert had four runs and was 5-11 to lead the Eagles. Jake Van Pelt struck out five in the title game. New Palestine remains No. 4 in the IHSBCA Class 3A poll. New Castle and Pendleton Heights are both receiving votes in the 4A poll.

Player of the Week Tyce Taylor, Shelbyville Taylor was 6-for-11 with four walks, three runs, a triple and fie RBI in Shelbyville’s week. Pitcher of the Week Ryan Beck, Mt. Vernon Beck threw 8 shutout innings with four hits, no walks and 11 strikeouts in MV’s 2-0 11-inning win over Greenfield-Central.
