ACOEM Fellowship — The status of Fellow is the highest classification of membership in ACOEM

— Fellowship distinguishes and recognizes members of the College for their training, accomplishments, and experience in occupational medicine at the national, component, and local levels, as well as the member’s academic and scientific contributions

ACOEM Fellowship — Fellowship provides ACOEM members the opportunity to serve our organization at the highest levels and is a qualification for leadership positions such as council chairs and officers of the Board of Directors

ACOEM Bylaws - Fellowship (a) Fellow. Any physician who meets all of the following criteria shall be eligible to apply to become a Fellow: (i) has held membership in the College as a Master or Active Member for a period of no fewer than three (3) years; (ii) possesses a high level of documented expertise in occupational and environmental medicine and meets other requirements of the College as determined by the Committee of Fellowship Examiners under the policies and procedures of the College.

Applying for Fellowship — Must be a member in good standing in ACOEM for at least three years and have — Obtained Board Certification (Occupational Medicine or other ABMS Medical Specialty by the time of the next AOHC.

— Must have an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine.

— Must present two recommendation letters, at least one from an ACOEM fellow.

— Must complete a fellowship application.

Fellowship Qualifications — Narrative demonstrating contribution to ACOEM, components or the field of OEM — Evidence of service requirement may be satisfied through a multitude of activities including but not limited to: — teaching, presentations, public advocacy, publications, meeting attendance or committee service

— Deadline for application – November 1

Fellowship Qualifications – with Board Certification in Another ABMS Specialty Evidence of education and experience in OEM. 1. Completion of the MPH or equivalent (as determined by the Committee of Fellowship Examiners) plus an additional 50 (15 of which can be from component) hours of ACOEM CME in the previous 5 years. 2. 2. Completion of 100 (30 of which can be from component) hours of ACOEM CME in the previous 5 years.

Fellowship Qualifications – with Board Certification in Another ABMS Specialty

— Component society CME must be verified by the component society and must be sent to ACOEM before November 1 with application for Fellowship.

Fellowship — Committee of Fellowship Examiners reviews applications and make recommendation to the Board of Directors

— Approval by at least ¾ of Board members — Fellowship ceremony at AOHC

Use of Fellowship Designation — Can no longer use FACOEM if not ACOEM member in good standing

— Can be reinstated if membership status renewed within 2 years except in special circumstances
