Betty Ann (Werkmeister Hoffard) Ryherd was born in Early, Iowa to Clifford and Minnie (Palm) Werkmeister. Betty worked at Methodist Manor for 17 years and worked on the farm with her husband, Floyd. She also babysat her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Her favorite pastime was crocheting afghans for her grandchildren and she especially enjoyed playing BINGO on Tuesday nights in Holstein. She is survived by four children, Donna (Hoffard) Kohn and friend Gale Demanett of Alta, IA, Robert Hoffard of Coralville, IA, Jana Kruelzfeldt of Alta, IA, Ronnie Ryherd and friend Cinda Purgett of Holstein and Doug Ryherd and friend Dee Ramsey of Excello, MO; 22 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; one sister, Bonnie TenEyck of Valley, NE; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine Hast of Council Bluffs, IA, Norma and Jim Fink of Council Bluffs, IA, Janice Hoffard of Sac City, IA, Buzz and Lois Hoffard of Storm Lake, IA, Janice and Tom Pester of Council Bluffs, IA, Don and Jill Ryherd of MO; Ken and Kate Ryherd of Mitchellville, IA, Sara and Arlo Lorenzen of IL, Bill and Jeri Ryherd of Cedar Falls, IA, Hank and Pat Ryherd of Waterloo, IA, and Charles and Pat Ryherd of Alta, IA; several nieces and nephews, some calling her “Uncle Betty;” and many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and husband Floyd; parents; parents-in-law; son, Steven; a brother; four sisters-in-law; and three brothers-in-law. Betty will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her.
