News Anchor: This is a special report from “JNN” (Judean News Network). Not long ago, we had a report that armies were threatening to invade Judah and terrorize God’s people who live there. Let’s go now to our reporter in Jerusalem with more on the story. Jerusalem Reporter: I am here with an eyewitness. Sir, tell me what you saw and heard. Eyewitness 1: King Ahaz seemed pretty scared. Then the prophet Isaiah came to speak with the King. Isaiah told King Ahaz to calm down and be quiet and that God would not allow these invading armies to harm His people. Isaiah told King Ahaz to ask for a sign as proof that God would do what He said. But King Ahaz didn’t want to test God. Then Isaiah said to King Ahaz, “Will you try the patience of God? The Lord Himself will give you a sign. A virgin will give birth to a special son who is Immanuel. Immanuel means God is with us.” News Anchor: When this young woman gives birth to this special son, it will be a sign that God will do what He has promised. Jerusalem Reporter: I have here with me several other eyewitnesses who have more information about what Isaiah has said. Eyewitness 2: I heard Isaiah speak of this son who would be a special sign for King Ahaz. Isaiah said that the son would be a sign for all of God’s people both now and in the future. Eyewitness 3: Isaiah also said that this child would have many names. He would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace. Jerusalem Reporter: Wow, this child sure sounds like someone very special. Eyewitness 4: Yes, indeed He is. And I can tell you even more. Isaiah said that the special child would come from the family of a man called Jesse, and that God’s Spirit will be upon Him. He will have a spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, strength, knowledge, and a reverence for God. He will be honest and always do what is right. And the special child who is to be the Messiah will always be reverent and faithful toward God. News Anchor: Thank you all for what you have shared. By the way, I have heard of another prophet in a city just north of here named Micah. He has also been speaking of the coming Messiah. Micah has said that the Messiah will come from Bethlehem of Judah to be a ruler over Israel and that the Messiah has always existed with God. This has been a special report from “JNN” (Judean News Network). Isaiah 7:1-4,10-14; 9:6; 11:1-5; Micah 5:2
