Greetings! Once again we find ourselves on the cusp of the Winter season. This year we have even more reason to celebrate! We will be having our first annual retreat. Winter Haven Retreat will be held at Eagle Crest Camp. We are so excited to have our first retreat at a familiar place with great friends. Sign up today for more information! Our new lineup of winter classes is sure to keep you warm this holiday season! Never hesitate to suggest a project you have seen that you wish were a class. Your wish just might come true! We will be holding our end of the year sale. Starting Monday December 28th and going through the 31st. Great sale prices as usual and maybe a few new surprises! Also, we will be adjusting our hours for the winter months. On Thursday nights we will close at 5:00pm instead of 8:00 pm starting in January. We wish everyone a blessed and safe holiday season!
Mascarpone Mashed Potatoes
Everyone is always looking for a great new holiday side dish! And who doesn't love cheese?! We stumbled upon this recipe and thought what a great twist on a holiday table staple! 4.5 lbs russet gold potatoes ½ lb. mascarpone chesse 1 egg yolk ¾ C. milk pinch of cayenne pepper 1 C. butter cut into chunks salt and pepper to taste Boil potatoes cut into halves until tender. Drain potatoes. Pre-heat the oven to 425. Wisk cheese until smooth. Stir in egg yolk and milk until smooth. Season with salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. Transfer potatoes to large bowl and add butter chunks. (season with salt and pepper if desired.) Mix until smooth. Add mascarpone mixture to potatoes. Spread into 9 x 13 baking dish. Bake until golden brown about 20 min.
