This month we will be making one block. Please read fabric requirements carefully. Additional sewing supplies maybe required depending on what you have in your sewing tool box. I try to anticipate all the things that you might need for this class. Things I think are part of an essential sewing tool box may not be on your list. Therefore please bring what you think you will need to complete this project.
Materials needed: BEST PRESS STARCH Pearl cotton #5 that coordinates with fabric Woven fusible interfacing - Stacy Shape-Flex by Pellon Block #1 o # 5 Pearl Cotton – (for steam) o Background – 14” square o Batting – 14” square o Flower – 3 coordinating blues 7” sq o YO-YO – Yellow, 5 ½” square o Leaf – lt. green, 5 ½” square o Leaf/ Stem – dk. green, 5 1/2” square o Boarder –green, fat quarter o Outer Boarder- orange, fat quarter o Outer Boarder – blue, fat quarter
Tools Needed:
Teflon pressing sheet Tear away stabilizer ( can be purchased by the sheet) Air Soluble Marker or Water Soluble Marker or Heat Soluble marker Spray glue or glue stick Seam gauge 18 inch ruler or larger 50wt. or 40 wt. thread for appliqué (purple, blue, yellow, lt. green, dark green 40 wt. thread to match your background) Black sharpie Small sharp scissors Paper scissors Iron Pressing board Rotary Cutter Self-healing Mat Sewing notions such as pins, etc
