Student-Athlete Social Media Agreement All Bloomfield College student-athletes must comply with the social media agreement throughout their career at Bloomfield College.
Social Media: Any website or application that permits its members to communicate, exchange, create and/or share content (ie: information, photos, ideas, values, principles, interests). Guidelines for Student-Athlete As a Bloomfield College Student-Athlete I, _________________________________________, understand that I am a representative of my institution on and off the playing field. The manner in which I conduct myself is held to a distinguished code of conduct. I recognize that I am not restricted from participating in social networking to create and share information. However, in order to maintain the integrity of Bloomfield College’s Statement of Shared Values and Bloomfield College Athletics’ Code of Conduct I understand that I must: 1. Refrain from posting inappropriate* personal information and photos to my profile; 2. Monitor photos posted by: a. Not taking and posting photos that may be deemed inappropriate* b. Not allowing others to take and post inappropriate** pictures of myself; c. Regularly checking tagged photos/posting to ensure they will not be deemed inappropriate*; 3. Monitor teammate’s social media accounts to ensure they are meeting the requirements set forth by this agreement; 4. Use social networking without malicious intent by: a. Not positing anything that may cause harm to others; b. Not posting anything negative about Bloomfield College, Bloomfield College Athletics, my teammates, other colleges/universities, or opponents; 5. Refrain from posting frivolous** personal problems; 6. Recognize that prospective employers, graduate school administrators, governmental administrators, and others may view my profile, and what I post may have an effect on my reputation. ___________(INITIAL) *Inappropriate content refers to anything that will violate Bloomfield College, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, or the National Collegiate Athletic Association code of conduct, rules, regulations, or bylaws. This may include but is not limited to gambling, consumption of alcohol, posting with cups that can be assumed to be containing alcohol, hazing activities, tobacco use, partial or complete nudity, banned substances, illegal drugs, derogatory statements, vulgar language, or obscene gestures. **Frivolous content refers to negative occurrences that may be offensive, cruel, or spiteful to others.
