BU’S LAST TIME OUT: Bloomsburg fell to West Chester, 65-59, on Saturday. Catherine Noack led the team in scoring with 12, followed by Lauren Ellis with 10. The Huskies lost senior starting point guard Alyssa Flanagan in the first half due to injury. ESU’S LAST TIME OUT: Jessica Martin set a school record with nine blocked shots and added eight points and 11 rebounds in East Stroudsburg’s 74-55 loss to Shippensburg on Saturday. Martin, who set a PSAC freshman record with 76 blocks last season, is the first PSAC player with at least nine blocks in a game since 2003. Ryann Fiascki scored a seasonhigh 15 points, junior guard Andrea Veres scored 12 and senior forward Fayola Moise added eight points and seven rebounds for ESU, which has dropped seven of its last eight. NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT: Bloomsburg was ranked in the USA Today Top 25 poll for seven consecutive weeks of the regular season.

2012-13 Bloomsburg Women’s Basketball Game Notes DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE: Bloomsburg leads the PSAC and ranks 18th in Division II in defensive field goal percentage (.342), and is third in the PSAC in scoring defense (58.6). SHARE THE WEALTH: BU leads the PSAC and is ninth in Division II with 17.76 assists per game. BU is assisting on 65.65 percent of its total field goals, and has had 10 or more assists in 48 of its last 49 games. SCORING LEADERS: Dana Wieller ranks fourth in BU history with 1,711 career points. She needs three to move into third and tie Kelsey Gallagher. Kayla Oxenrider ranks 12th in school history and needs 23 to tie Michelle Albanese for 11th.

HIGH SCORING AFFAIR: BU’s 55 first half points against Mansfield were the most in a half since it scored 56 in the second half at Millersville last season, and the most in the first half since scoring 57 against Penn State Schuylkill in the 2009-10 season. BU’s 93 points were the most against a PSAC opponent since it scored 99 against ESU at home in the 2010-11 season. GETTING OTHERS INVOLVED: Marla Simmons dished out a careerhigh six assists against West Chester. Of players coming off the bench, Simmons is second with 27 assists behind Maggie Borski’s 37. TAKING CARE: Alyssa Flanagan’s 2.3 assist-turnover ratio leads the PSAC and rates eighth in Division II. Her 3.4 assists per game ranks seventh in the PSAC. Flanagan also has an assist in 14 straight games. NOT IN OUR HOUSE: Bloomsburg had its 18-game winning streak at home snapped on Saturday against West Chester. Since the 2010-11 season, Bloomsburg holds an impressive 31-6 record on its home floor.

THIS IS HER HOUSE: Lauren Ellis ranks sixth in BU history in blocks with 91. She needs three to move into fifth and tie Karen Bucher’s mark of 94 set in 2000. Ellis had a career-high five rejections against Mercyhurst. This season, Ellis is sixth in the PSAC, averaging 1.4 rejections per game. Ellis had a streak of eight consecutive games with a block earlier this season.

OVERTIME HISTORY: Bloomsburg is 2-5 in overtime games in the Bill Cleary era. The last occurance was a 74-71, double overtime victory at Lincoln in the 2012-13 season, the first BU OT win since the 2009-10 season. The last loss for the Huskies was a 74-67 loss to Kutztown in the first round of the 2010 PSAC Tournament. BU’s other win in the Cleary era was against NYACK College in the 2009-10 season, an 8072 victory. LET’S DO IT AGAIN: Bloomsburg has held a 12-game winning streak in each of the last two seasons.
