HUSKIES RETURN HOME
Bloomsburg saw its rally effort come up short on Wednesday night in a 66-62 loss at Mercyhurst. The Huskies erased a late 10-point deficit to tie the game in the final minutes, but the Lakers were able to hold on thanks to multiple key 3-pointers down the stretch. Alssene Saintilus scored a career-high 21 points on Wednesday night and has been impressive in his Huskies debut with 12.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Andrew Morgan tied a career-high in scoring during his time in maroon and gold in Tuesday’s game at Edinboro, a 70-61 setback, with nine points. Forced to shuffle the lineup due to injuries to two starters, Lorenzo Christmas has taken over the role as the team’s leading scorer at 12.7 ppg and is closing in on cracking the school’s top 20 in all-time scoring (23rd, 1,048 points; 40 away from 20th) after registering his 1,000th career point in a game last month. Fellow senior Dontahe Jordan has missed the last three games with injury after ranking among the conference leaders in scoring (18.0 ppg) and steals (17) to begin the year. Bloomsburg entered the week with a six-game winning streak, its longest since the 2011-12 season.
SCOUTING GANNON
Gannon completed an undefeated two-game PSAC crossover homestand Wednesday night with a 75-62 victory against Lock Haven. The Golden Knights were led by a career-high 16 points off the bench from Brandon Emmitt and A’Darius Porter recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Golden Knights have played away from their home court in Erie just twice so far - losing at Seton Hill, 56-52, on Nov. 23 and defeating Slippery Rock, 68-61, on Dec. 4. Defense has been the calling card for the Golden Knights on the young season as they have limited opponents to just 60.7 points per game - a total which ranks second in the PSAC behind only IUP (57.1 ppg allowed). Adam Blazek paces the team in scoring at 15.7 ppg while averaging over 36 minutes per contest. Tee Talley adds 10.9 ppg while Porter leads the team in rebounding at 6.6 rpg. Following the holiday break, Gannon travels again to East Stroudsburg and West Chester Jan. 3-4.
THE BLOOMSBURG-GANNON SERIES
Gannon leads, 9-0 The Golden Knights have never lost in the series, however, eight of the nine games have been played in Erie at the Hammermill Center. Gannon’s only trip to Nelson Field House came during the 2008-09 season.

PLAYER RANKINGS
-Dontahe Jordan ranks eighth in the PSAC in scoring (18.0 ppg). -Jordan is also first in steals (2.8 spg). -Jon Riles stands sixth in free throw percentage among all conference players at 85.2% (23-27) and 14th in the PSAC in assists (3.2 apg).
-Charles Haigler had a season-high 11 points at Mercyhurst. He scored in double figures nine times last year.
KEEP ON CLIMBING
-Andrew Morgan matched his BU career-high with 9 points at Edinboro. He’s averaging 21.3 minutes the last 3 games.
PROTECT THE ROCK
-Lorenzo Christmas has been in starting lineup in his past 34 games played.
DE-FENSE
The Huskies are allowing opponents an average of 66.2 points per game this season, a total which ranks sixth in the PSAC. Gannon is limiting its opposition to 60.7 ppg, behind only IUP’s 57.1.
HOME COOKING
Bloomsburg is perfect at home this year (4-0) and a big reason for it is strong shooting from the floor. The Huskies are shooting 50 percent from the field (94-188) during the team’s four home games and averaging 80.8 points per game.
HOME SWEET HOME
Bloomsburg has played its last three games on the road – its longest road trip of the season. The Huskies play back-to-back road contests just once more – Jan. 25 at Kutztown and Jan. 29 at Millersville.
Senior Dontahe Jordan ranks 18th all-time in BU scoring with 1,147 points for his career. He’s 207 points away from the top 10 (Shawn Munford’s 1,354 from 1997-01). The Huskies committed a season-low nine turnovers Wednesday at Mercyhurst. It represented the fewest turnovers in a game by BU since committing only eight vs. Kutztown on Feb. 23, 2013.
CHANGING FACES
The Huskies used their fifth starting lineup of the season in the win at Shippensburg on Dec. 7, using the starting five of Jon Riles, Charles Haigler, Lorenzo Christmas, Wes Lyons and Alssene Saintilus for the first time. Injuries have partially forced the changing lineups as starting center Moustapha Noumbissi has missed the last four games with injury while injury sidelined Dontahe Jordan the past three games.
TO 1,000 AND BEYOND
Lorenzo Christmas became the 27th player in Bloomsburg history to score 1,000 points in maroon and gold, reaching the milestone with a pair of free throws to ice the Nov. 20 win over Millersville. Christmas moved over 1,000 points on his two shots from the line with just eight seconds to play in the Huskies’ 83-77 victory. Christmas tallied 281 points as a freshman (11.2 ppg), 268 as a sophomore (9.6 ppg), 385 as a junior (16.0 ppg) and 91 so far this year.
UP NEXT
The Huskies will not play again in 2013, taking the next week off to enjoy the holidays. Bloomsburg next plays Jan. 3 and 4 at Nelson Field House in another pair of PSAC crossovers, hosting Clarion on Friday afternoon and then conference newcomer Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday. Both games are scheduled for 3 p.m. starts.

@BUSPORTSINFO • #BUHUSKIES
CAREER NIGHT
Moustapha Noumbissi turned in perhaps his finest game with the Huskies in the Nov. 20 win over Millersville, setting career highs in both points (15) and rebounds (9). His previous career-high of 12 points also came vs. Millersville last year. Alssene Saintilus established a new career-high in scoring with 21 points at Mercyhurst on Dec. 18 while Andrew Morgan tied his high of nine at Edinboro on Dec. 17. Earlier in the year Dontahe Jordan set a high of 34 points in a double OT win over Lincoln (PA) and Wes Lyons tied his career-best with 19 points vs. PSU-Hazleton.
DOWNTOWN CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
Lorenzo Christmas has already become one of the most prolific 3-point shooters in school history. He sits fourth in Huskies history in field goals made from behind the arc, draining 183 3’s in maroon and gold. He enters Saturday 42 3’s off the all-time record of 225 set by Mike Ellzy from 1993-97. Ellzy was elected to the Bloomsburg University Athletics Hall of Fame this year.
WORKING OVERTIME
The Huskies won 89-79 vs. Lincoln (PA) in double overtime on Nov. 16. Bloomsburg is no stranger to overtime contests – six games went to extra time last season including two double OT and one triple OT game. The Huskies also continued their success in lengthy contests – they went 5-1 in overtime games a year ago.
