1. Roll Call/Sign In Sheet: Passed out sign in sheet – there were 15 people in attendance including board members 2. Treasurer’s Report: Damon passed out the Statement of Revenue & Expenses. Right now there is $73,594 in the bank. There is still about $12K to pay to Dicks Sporting Goods for uniforms. 3. Boys Commissioners Report: Jim Walker took some questions regarding hosting tournaments at Morgan. We want to try to get a date as soon as possible for our tournament. We want to have the tournaments at Morgan only so that we can also get revenues for concessions during tournaments. 4. Girls Commissioners Report: Gina was absent for the meeting. Will give full update at next meeting. 5. Old Business: a. Clearances: The season is less than a week away and not all clearances have been submitted. Please get the information to Laura Lamonde ASAP to ensure that you will still have a head coaching position for this spring. This is a South Fayette Township rule that we enforce for the safety of the kids. Please put emphasis on getting these in. b. QuickScores: Looking for feedback from coaches on the software Everyone at the meeting had positive feedback about the system. c. Code of Conduct: Update Code of Conduct is in the process of being finalized and approved by the SFBSA Board. We should be able to get the Code of Conduct out this week. Definitely want to have all coaches sign it and return. All coaches should forward to parents. We are not requiring parents’ signature this year – but will look to obtain it at registration or some point next year. The Code of Conduct will also be posted on the website as well. 6. New Business: a. Game Cancellations i. All Teams – please add Gina Kormick’s number to your contacts 412-498-6893; Gina is responsible for scheduling workers at concession stand at Morgan, so if games are cancelled she will need to know – please text her with the following information: Coach’s Name; Game Time; Morgan Field you were scheduled to play on ii. Pony, Little League, and Kid Pitch Coaches – please be sure to ALSO advise Ken Santucci to cancel umpires before contacting your teams. His contact info is [email protected] and phone number is 412-3274058. The HOME TEAM should do this no later than 45 minutes prior to start of game. If umpires show up and games are cancelled, we still have to pay the umpire fee.
iii. All rescheduled games need to go through Joe Sanders and he will then send the umpire request to Ken. Would need a minimum of 24 hours to set up the umpires so please keep in mind when rescheduling games. b. Pictures: i. April 26, 2014 Sturgeon Fire Hall (526 Main Street, Sturgeon, PA 15082). Passing around a picture schedule sheet – schedule the time slot for your team’s individual/team photos Passed a picture schedule out to those that were present. Will send out to all coaches this week. c. South Fayette Township: Discussed SF Umbrella Organization needs 2 reps from each SF sport organization. Asked us to take on more in regard to field maintenance. Asked us to have 1 contact to reach out to Township with issues rather than all coaches calling Butch direct. Bud will be this person. d. Girls Youth Recognition at the High School Game on Saturday May 3: e. Field Maintenance: Discussed that we need to be sure that the fields are dragged after every game and practice. Also, clean out dugouts of any garbage. There is a broom and dustpan in the concession stand if needed. f.
Little League Sanctioned: Bud is going to find out what needs to be done and take care of getting us Little League Sanctioned again.
g. SFBSA Board Meetings: The May meeting is the last meeting until October. October will be the nominations meeting. Some of the positions up for nominations will be President, Boys Commissioner and Concessions.
