WHAT ABOUT STATE FUNDING? Pittsburg ISD is a state funded school district, which is determined by a district’s wealth per student. Because the District falls below the State’s wealth equalization level per student, the State helps the District pay for its annual voted bond debt service. The State currently pays for approximately 13% of the outstanding voted bond debt service payments of the District. Given current State funding formulas and appropriate tax effort, the District expects the State to continue paying this percentage of the new debt service if the Improvement Plan is approved by the voters and the bonds are issued.
