Bonnie Stasser Goodland, KS Artist/Photographer Bonnie’s Photo Show, Coming Home, will be on display during the Harvest Festival September 1-2, 2012 In Old Town Museum’s Barn Stop by for a chance to be photographed with her popular Red Chair 57!
Bonnie has been a student of fine art her entire life, watching closely as her aunt Tynne LaForest worked on oil paintings when she was very young. Although mostly self-taught, Mrs. Stasser has also been mentored by internationally known Photographer Sam Bass of “Images by Sam Bass” (Kingsport, TN) and Art History Major and Watercolor Artist David Brownstead of “Mark Daniel Fine Art” (San Diego, CA) and Bev Pettit of Bev Pettit Photography/Learn to Take Photos. Mrs. Stasser began with pencil drawings, sculpting and painting wile in school and proceeded to take weekend classes from Artists such as Gijsbert van Frankenhuysen (Michigan Out of Doors magazine) as time permitted. In 2009, Stasser’s interest in Photography was once again re-awakened with the desire to capture “life on a small farm” that she and her husband enjoy.
"For me, photography is more than just the capturing of a moment in time… It is a therapy for me. It brings my heart and soul to a place of deeper peace and understanding. It wraps its Arms around me and holds me even when the world around me may be in confusion. Photography gives me hope, helps me breath, and helps me to be a more complete human being.
