Book It! for Schools 2013 at The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival Important information about your visit THIS DOCUMENT ACCOMPANIES ANY BOOK IT! FOR SCHOOLS TICKETS POSTED TO HOME EDUCATORS
THE ENCLOSED TICKET DOCUMENT IS YOUR TICKET Your booking is non-refundable and your tickets cannot be exchanged. Please check the document carefully, keep it in a safe place and ensure that all accompanying adults in your group have a copy of the ticket document and this letter. You must bring the ticket document with you when you visit the Festival. Please note that Book It! for Schools tickets can only be purchased in advanced through the Education Team. The Festival Box Office cannot issue Book It! for Schools tickets on site at the Literature Festival. Tickets are not issued for the Discovery Trail. VISITORS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS If anyone in your group has specific requirements (e.g. wheelchair access, hearing loop etc), please let us know in advance. PLANNING, RISK ASSESSMENTS, AND CAR PARKS http://www.cheltenhamfestivals.com/planning-your-visit http://prestbury.cheltenham.gov.uk/website/Google/car%20parks/car_parks_map.htm ARRIVAL All Book It! for Schools events take place at a Cheltenham Town Hall venue (mainly the Inkpot or the Garden Theatre). There will be signposting outside each venue to identify activities. Please arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before the start of your first event. Events begin promptly and large numbers of children attend each one! AT EVENTS The venue staff will check your tickets as you arrive – please note that every member of your party must have a ticket. This includes babies and toddlers. The Event Manager has the right to refuse entry to members of your party without the appropriate ticket. Children under 2 years old will be issued with a complimentary ‘lap’ ticket. This means that they must sit on an accompanying adult’s lap during the event. Please make sure your child/ren are adequately supervised before, during and after events. Please note that if a child is being disruptive during an event, the Event Manager has the right to ask the accompanying adult and child to leave the event. If a child in your party needs to leave the event for any reason you must not leave your other children in the event without adult supervision. Cheltenham Festivals does not act in loco parentis. PACKED LUNCHES There is plenty of space to picnic in the Imperial Gardens behind the Town Hall. In the event of rain there is some limited covered space available.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING Accredited photographers and film crews will be present throughout the Festival. Their coverage of the school programme consists mainly of general audience shots and groups in and around the Festival venues. They will ask permission if they want to film or photograph your group. THE DISCOVERY TRAIL This is a free literature-themed quiz trail around Imperial Gardens. The quiz is suitable for KS 1-3 and is sponsored by Dean Close Prep School.
