Hi there! I’m writing in application to the Creative Director position you currently have open. I believe my hands-on approach to creative direction and my ability to wear many hats in a highly agile environment would make me a valuable asset to the Brilliant Bicycle Co. team. A bit about me - in 2010 I joined the up-and-coming cloud computing group within Amazon, Amazon Web Services (AWS), as the first designer within the 8-person marketing org. Over the next four and half years, I established and evolved our brand guidelines, developed distinctive creative for collateral and campaigns, built a team of 7 awesome visual and UX designers, onboarded independent designers and big design agencies to support our projects, and still worked on design projects every week myself. I believe my broad design experience and hands-on approach would lend itself well to a growing startup - so that’s what I’m looking for in my next role. Why am I particularly interested in Brilliant Bicycle Co.? Because there’s nothing quite like getting yourself from one place to another on your bike; you’re refreshed, endorphins are up and it was cheaper than driving and faster than walking. I would love to join the team and be a part of shifting the perspective on biking from ‘a competitive sport’ or ‘another thing hipsters are self-righteous about’ to: an enjoyable aspect of the urban lifestyle.
