frequently asked questions What’s the difference between regular giving and this special offering? Regular giving is a normal outflow of our commitment to Jesus and our local church given throughout the year. The Christmas Offering is an opportunity to go above and beyond that; it is one of those special occasions that stretch us to grow our faith.
How much should I give? The amount you give is between you and God. Some are able to give more than others. The issue is not equal amounts, but equal sacrifice. What amount can you give that will stretch your faith?
SPACES & PLACES
When should I give? The Christmas Offering begins December 17, and you can give any time after that until 11:59pm on December 31.
Can I give online to the Christmas Offering? Absolutely! Online giving is a safe, secure, and really easy option to give your Christmas offering. Just go to vcgive.tv to get started.
How will I know if we reach our goal? We love to celebrate what God is doing through you in our church. You will be updated on our giving progress during the Sunday worship experience and online via social media and email.

what is spaces & places?
So How does it work?
Spaces & Places began with our 2016 Christmas Offering. Each of the last 6 years, we have received a special offering at the end of the year for a variety of projects and outreach efforts. Last year, we began specifically setting aside funds to be ready when God opens the door for a space to call our own. Our goal for this year’s Christmas Offering is $15,000.00.
Beginning December 17 through the end of 2017, we are asking you to bring your Spaces and Places offering to one of our worship experiences or give online at vcgive.tv. Gifts to Spaces and Places are encouraged to be above and beyond your regular giving. This is a serious, audacious, one shot offering of generosity!
This sounds great, but what exactly does the spaces and places fund support?
is this a building fund? is vertical church getting a facility? Our Spaces and Places fund, overseen by the Directional Leadership Team, is what many would consider a “building fund.” While Vertical Church is not currently in the financial position to lease/ own our own facility, we do hope this offering will continue to position us to explore those kind of options when they become available.
Spaces and Places also helps to provide additional worship opportunities and continued improvements to our current spaces at Regal Cinemas.
When Jesus changes a life, people take notice. When it happens to person after person, a movement of God takes place. Vertical Church is a church where change happens in people’s lives. Your giving allows us to create spaces and places for God to use. It helps to fuel God’s work here.
The majority of gifts to Spaces and Places will be reserved and used on a future home for Vertical Church. Funds may also support additional worship experience opportunities and improvements to our current spaces. It is an offering focused on expanding our vision and current ministry.
In addition, a portion of our Spaces and Places offering will go towards a partnership with Habitat for Humanity to build homes in South Hampton Roads. This partnership will also include handson volunteer opportunities in 2018.
From our pastors We are passionate about pointing those far from God to life in Jesus. There are many great causes, especially this time of year, but we make no apologies about our belief that the local church is of the utmost importance. This not a plea for more money, but rather a prayer for God to use us to do more together than any one of us could do alone.
We hope you will prayerfully consider what God would have you give, over and above your regular giving. Let’s take our next step together!
Your pastors,
Josh Butcher and Brian Owens
