National Broiler Market-At-A-Glance Whole broiler/fryer prices are trending weak. Offerings are light to moderate. Retail demand is light to moderate. Food service demand is moderate, some finding demand disappointing entering the weekend. Floor stocks are generally in balance. Market activity is slow to moderate. In the parts complex, prices are steady to firm on tenders and mostly steady for the balance of parts. Supplies of boneless skinless breast is moderate to heavy with jumbo sizes noted as readily available. Market activity for parts is mostly moderate. In production areas, live supplies are moderate at mostly desirable weights.

Prices of 15-20% MSC continue to trend mostly steady for both fresh and frozen. Domestic demand is moderate to fairly good as processors have accessed finished product inventories and begin to prepare for the anticipated Fourth of July needs. Export demand for frozen is fairly good to instances good. Supplies are moderate. Processing schedules return to normal this week. Market activity is moderate. Supplies of raw materials are moderate. Frame prices are trending steady with trading levels between 8.5-12 cents FOB.

Weekly Fryers Available For Marketing Based on the preliminary chick placements, the number of fryersavailable for marketing during the week ending 15-Jul-17 is estimated at 160.9 million head. This compares to 160.5 million head the previous week and to 162.4 million head the same week a year ago, when the slaughter was 146.7 million head and the national weighted average price was 99.05 cents per pound.
