Brussels sprouts are small leafy green vegetables that look like little cabbages. They have compact, waxy green leaves and are about 1-2 inches big. They used to have a much bitterer flavor but today have a mild bitter-sweet flavor. They can be roasted, stir fried, baked, or stewed.

Slow Roasted Brussels Sprouts Ingredients: • 1 ½ lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed • 3 tbsp olive oil or butter • 1 tsp salt • ½ tsp black pepper • 3 cloves diced garlic Preheat oven to 400°F. Put Brussels sprouts, oil or butter, salt, pepper and garlic in a resealable plastic bag. Seal and shake to coat then put everything on a baking sheet and put in the center of the oven to cook for 30-45 minutes. Stir every 5-7 minutes to avoid burning. Serve hot.
