Dowd III was named Chairman of the Business Law Section of the Alabama State Bar. His term will run from July 2016 until the Alabama State Bar Annual Meeting in July 2017. Dowd is also a member of the American Bar Association and served on the Birmingham Bar Association Executive Committee from 2007-2010.
