1. Access Business Insights Essential from the Fisher College Library homepage, http://www.fisher.edu/library 2. Click Online Databases 3. Click Business References 4. Click Business Insights Essentials 5. The following page should appear:

Business Insights Essentials Library Guide WHAT DO I DO NEXT? 1. Click in the entry box (default is a Keyword Search.) 2. Enter search term(s). 3. A list of results will appear related to your search terms. These can be narrowed by exploring the options (Company Profiles, News, Market Share Reports, Rankings, etc.) or by limiting by Publication Title or Related Subjects on the left side of the results window. OTHER SEARCHES Company Finder: Create of list of companies fitting certain criteria (country, state, revenue, number of employees, etc. )
If you find too few articles: Search different forms of the word (use an asterisk “*”) e.g., industry* finds industry, industries, industrial, industrious Use plurals (use the word OR to connect the terms) e.g., scandal or scandals or scandalous Find synonyms of your search term. (use the word OR to connect the terms) e.g., charge or allege Lengthen the date range Search History Displays previously searched articles
Industries: Finds profiles of over 1000 different industries Comparison Charts: Allows you to compare companies and industries by metrics like revenue, employees, and sales per employee. Advanced Search: searching that can be limited by: Content type Publication title Full Text articles Industry (NAICS) Industry (SIC) Date SEARCHING TIPS If you find too many articles: Use at least two or three search terms (use the word AND to connect the terms) e.g., enron AND scandal AND lawsuit Be specific Use the “w” operator to find an exact phrase e.g., enron w1 lawsuit (find enron within 1 word of lawsuit) Limit (shorten) the date range
Saved Items When you find an item you want to save, click the star button at the top right of the article. This will save it to your Saved Items folder for further use during your session. *Click on Help (very top right of screen) for more tips and more detailed explanations HOW DO I PRINT COPIES? To print, click the printer icon at the top right of the article. This will take you to the print preview. Click Print.
HOW DO I CITE ARTICLES? To get citation information, click the notebook icon at the top right of the article. Under Download choose APA or MLA and click Download. Choose Open to see the citation and copy and paste it into your document.
