Kessler: Andy Asher Kessler was born Jan. 27 in Santa Monica, Calif. The proud parents are Jenny and Marc Kessler, who live in Malibu. Paternal great-grandparents are the late David and Jeannette Blumenstein. Andy’s proud paternal grandparents are Joan Blumenstein Kessler, formerly of Pittsburgh, and her husband, Warren “Skip” Kessler, who reside in Los Angeles.

The Jewish Association on Aging announced that Sharyn Rubin, director of resident and community services, has won the 2013 Association of Jewish Aging Services (AJAS) Humanitarian Award. Rubin was nominated for this national award in recognition of her devotion to enriching the lives and well being of Jewish older adults. She has given her caring, comforting and wise counsel to seniors and families in the community for over 35 years.
