a) Contractor shall roughen all disturbed surfaces by bulldozer cleats, disk, tiller, or other methods prior to seeding where vegetation will be established. b) Topsoil shall be added to a depth needed for establishment of vegetation before permanent seeding application.

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TO VERIFY AND ADJUST THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE OF OPERATION IF NECESSARY, UPON REGULATORY AND OWNER APPROVAL. 2. THE PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING SHALL BE SCHEDULED TO BE CONDUCTED A MINIMUM OF 72 HOURS PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES. 3. e) Optimum seeding dates are March 1 through May 10 and August 10 through September 30. Perimeter seeding done between May 10 and August 10 may need to be irrigated. As an alternative, use temporary seeding (Practice 3.11) until the preferred date for permanent seeding. f) Seed shall be applied uniformly with a drill or cultipacker-seeder or by broadcasting, and cover to a depth of 1/4 to 1/2 inch. If drilling or broadcasting, seedbed shall be firmed with a roller or cultipacker. g) All permanently seeded areas shall be mulched and anchored by crimping or tackifying. If seeding is done with a hydroseeder, fertilizer and mulch can be applied with the seed in a slurry mixture.

GEOTEXTILE SILT FENCE OR SEDIMENT TRAPS SHALL BE PROVIDED AROUND ALL PROPOSED AND EXISTING STRUCTURES, WITHIN THE VICINITY OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT WASH OF SILT INTO THE STORM SEWERS, STORM WATER DRAINAGE COURSES, AND ADJACENT PROPERTIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL AVOID UNNECESSARY DISTURBING OR REMOVING OF EXISTING VEGETATED TOPSOIL OR EARTH COVER AS THESE AREAS SERVE AS SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES.
