Camelback Kiwanis “WE BUILD” Our Mission Statement: The Camelback Kiwanis Club provides charitable assistance to the Valley’s underprivileged youth and to provide post-secondary educational scholarships to deserving scholars lacking financial means.
Our motto is “We Build”. Whether it’s planning the golf tournament, working at camp, sharing lunch, preparing for the electric light parade, or fraternizing at one of our social events, there’s always something to do. We’re continually looking for new members to join us in giving back to the community we love.

CBK Social Opportunities: Relationships with fellow Kiwanis have resulted in many lasting friendships and business relationships outside of the club. We have several social outings each year including, but not limited to, holiday parties, golf outings, anniversary parties, leadership retreats, skeet shooting outings, and family nights. It’s important getting to know your fellow club members and we certainly have plenty of fun in doing so.

[email protected] How we impact our community: For over 60 years, CBK has been working closely with numerous Valley schools to provide a mountain camp experience, academic and goal recognition (Terrific Kids, BUGS), kid run community service groups (K-Kids, Builders’ Clubs, Key-Clubs), sending intercity kids on field trips to everywhere from the Phoenix Zoo to Washington DC, and other hands-on community service projects such as park clean-ups and the annual APS Electric Light Parade. Each year we commit approximately $15,000 financially and hundreds of man hours to run these programs.
Memorial Scholarship Fund: Our scholarship fund provides as many as 5 college scholarships each year to deserving candidates from Arcadia High School, or other recommendation, who are pursuing post-secondary degrees in Arizona. Financially we commit at least $15,000 per year to this fund.
Camp Wamatochick:

Additionally for over 60 years Camelback Kiwanis has helped Campfire build, clean, maintain, design, and promote Camp Wamatochick – the oldest camp in Arizona. Now owned by Teen Round-Up, we plan to continue our roll in preserving the camp and providing access to it for the youth we help support. Between Kids Kamp and our Camp Work Weekend, we commit approximately $7,000 per year to this endeavor.
Back-Pack Buddies:

In 2011 we began a partnership with the Legacy Foundation, specifically the Backpack Buddies Project, which helps equip more than 10,000 (statewide) elementary school children from low-income families with back-toschool supplies, health and hygiene-related items, and clothing. Camelback Kiwanis commits between $4,000 and $5,000 each year to this project.
