Camp Director Matthew Senk Stony Brook Baseball Coach Matthew Senk enters his twenty– seventh year as clinic director. The coach of the Seawolves has established a tradition of individual excellence and winning at Stony Brook. During his tenure, Coach Senk has had many outstanding players named All-Conference, New York State AllRegion, nominated for All-American honors, and signed to professional baseball contracts. Academically, over 90% of his players have graduated and moved into successful careers and graduate programs. In addition, Coach Senk was honored as the University’s Men’s coach of the year six times for leading his team to the E.C.A.C. and NCAA playoffs in 1992, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2008., 2010, 2012 & 2015. In 2012, Senk lead his team to their historic run to the college world series. Prior to joining the SBU coaching staff, Senk spent three years as head coach at Kellenberg Memorial High School. Senk’s teams at Kellenberg captured both League and Division Championships during his reign. Prior to coaching at Kellenberg, Senk was head coach at St. Agnes Cathedral High School where he guided his team to a Division Championship and was named NSCHSAA Coach of the year. Senk is graduate of Cortland State College where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1980. While at Cortland, Senk was the baseball teams’ starting catcher and earned team M.V.P. Honors as a senior. He earned his Master’s degree in Physical Education from Adelphi University. Senk is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association . In addition to his head coaching duties at Stony Brook, Senk is an experienced teacher and clinician. He directs winter hitting and pitching clinics and private baseball camps throughout the summer.

Our Outstanding Coaching Staff All of the instructors at the Stony Brook Baseball Clinic are experienced high school coaches, and college players. Not only do they possess an abundance of baseball knowledge, but their capacity for teaching and genuine care and concern for young people is unequaled. The staff will focus on each individual camper’s needs. They will spend the week helping campers develop skills allowing them to finish the session with a sense of pride and personal achievement.

The summer baseball camp at Stony Brook University is geared to the instruction of student ages 7-17. Younger campers will be provided with a positive introduction to the world of athletics in a fun atmosphere. Our young campers will enjoy the game of baseball by learning the basic skills needed to develop a strong foundation for mature athletic success.

1. Choice of one or several weeks of instruction.

During the week, as our students’ skills develop, so will their self-esteem and confidence.

6. Individual Grouping according to age and ability. 7. Full lunch program in air conditioned cafeteria (additional $60 per session).

Instruction for our older campers will be geared toward coaching “What it takes” to become a successful player. The progression of skills and individualized instruction will be geared toward making all campers reach their baseball potential. Additionally, it is hoped that the time spent at the camp will be a memorable experience and one that will allow all campers to become not only better baseball players, but better young people.

Their own transportation. Own glove, baseball shoes or sneakers, favorite bat, sweats or baseball pants. Catchers are encouraged to bring their own equipment. Complete and return a University required Health Form which includes proof of immunization by a physician and a required Assumption of Risk form.
