Removal of ‘staple’ cycle stands – This was a real team effort between HCC members, local residents and Councillors – but it has been confirmed that all of the sharp and poorly placed ‘new’ bike stands in Harringay Green Lanes will be replaced.

We lobbied Haringey Council to remove the guardrail to allow a cycle exit at the St Ann’s Road/Hermitage Road roundabout – we know there is a problem with motor vehicles not recognising this as a legitimate entry to the roundabout – please let us know if you have any experience of this problem. Meeting Canal & River Trust Towpath Ranger HCC are meeting with the London Towpath Ranger for the Canal & River Trust in order to discuss improvements to the cobbled sections on the towpath of the River Lea. If anyone would like to join the ride, or has any feedback on this or other towpath/access issues in Haringey please let us know – contact details at the top of this newsletter! We meet on the 2nd Monday of the month with a start time of 7.15pm at The Great Northern Railway Tavern, Hornsey High Street www.gnrt.co.uk We try to wrap up the meeting within an hour, although some of us stay on for food and drinks afterwards. Look out for Bromptons, maps and cycling paraphernalia. Councillors support Space for Cycling in Haringey! Local residents in Haringey helped us develop a list of suggestions for cycle improvements. We then asked all candidates standing for election in Haringey in May 2014 to agree to implement these improvements in their ward. Here’s the list of newly elected councillors who agreed to support the local cycle improvements outlined in our Space for Cycling campaign.
