Canon AE-1 Tripod Mount Replacement

INTRODUCTION Over time the tripod mount can become damaged and the tripod will no longer thread into the camera. This guide will explain how to replace the tripod mount.

Step 1 — Tripod Mount 

Turn the camera so the bottom of the camera is facing up.



Remove the two Phillips screws from the bottom cover using the Phillips #00 Screwdriver.



Lift and remove the bottom cover from the camera.

Remove the three screws securing the tripod mount using the Phillips #00 Screwdriver.



Lift and remove the tripod mount from the camera.
