Tasting Note A powerful palate packed with jasmine and white spice, this is tight, focused, an almost crunchy Viognier with all the classic varietal flavours yet remains lean and almost muscular.
Producer Details MADE BY BOUTINOT encompasses vineyards and cellars primarily in France, Italy, South Africa and England as well as long standing relationships with hundreds of winegrowers throughout other parts of the world e.g. Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Spain and the USA. We craft our wines by both vinifying fruit from our own vineyards and by selecting and blending wine from partner growers. Our dedicated Product Managers (including two Masters of Wine) work hand in hand with our experienced and highly talented winemakers and blenders to bring our winemaking philosophy to life. It's their job to ensure all Made by Boutinot wines are crafted to match our stylistic ideals of how wine should taste and deliver our vision of high quality wines at every price point.
In The Vineyard
Food Recommendations
Sourced from young vines in the Worcester region and grown on granitic soil. Grapes are picked early to capture their fresh aromas.
Fish, chicken and spicy Asian inspired dishes.
In The Winery This luscious unoaked Viognier is sourced from young vines on granite soils in the Worcester area, where a continental climate brings very cold winters that enable vines to rest before a vigorous summer. Here the vineyards need to be irrigated, but yields are controlled by suckering in November - this ensures the vine's energy is directed to the most important shoots and also to promote good air flow in the canopy. Given the high summer temperatures, the grapes are picked at a good maturity and ripeness using machine harvesters to ensure speed to cellar at cool temperature. Careful winemaking results in terrific varietal expression and freshness.
