9 March 2015 Dear Parent/Carer BIKEABILITY – NATIONAL STANDARD CYCLE TRAINING We are in the process of booking the above cycling proficiency course for our Year 6 pupils to be held in June/July 2015, term six. It is a one and a half day course run by Kent County Council. The children will be taught, and fully supervised, by trained instructors. During the course, the children will be expected to use their bikes on the main roads and around the school; they will be instructed in the safe use of bicycles and will be continually assessed throughout the course. Your child will need their own bicycle or have access to a bike – if they have, we strongly recommend this course which covers all safety issues needed to ride a bike safely. The cost of this course will be £10 per child. If you have genuine difficulty in meeting this cost please speak to Margaret Tillett in the school office. If you wish your child to take part please complete the permission slip below and return it to school by Friday 27th March (payment is not required at this time); places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Confirmation letters and a consent form will be sent out nearer the time. Yours faithfully
