12th January 2016 Dear Parent/Carer Joseph Swan Academy ‘Your Future’ Careers Fair Wednesday 24th February 2016 from 6pm to 7.30pm We would like to invite you and your son/daughter to the Joseph Swan Academy’s Careers Fair which we have entitled ‘Your Future’ on Wednesday 24th February 2016. This will take place on our Academy ‘Street’ ‘between 6pm and 7.30pm. This event has been organised as part of our Academy Careers Programme and is intended to help our students find out more about the options available to them as they make decisions about their future. The evening should be of particular interest to students in Years 9 (who also have a options evening on 20th April 2016), Years 11 and 13 students as they consider their options in the future. All students/parents/carers are welcome to come to this event, to investigate possible future pathways. We have invited over twenty five organisations and businesses to be represented at this event including companies such as Rolls Royce, Nissan, Sainsbury’s, Sage Academy of Performing Arts and Baker Tilly. There will also be representatives from Gateshead Health, the Armed Forces including the Royal Navy, the Royal Air Force and the Army. In addition our Academy Sixth Form will be available to discuss our Key Stage 5 pathways and curriculum. There will also be representatives from universities and training providers. As you can imagine this is a very worthwhile event to attend to ensure both you and your son/daughter have as much information as possible about future pathways. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening in our Street Café. As a further incentive all ‘family groups’ who attend this evening will be entered into a prize draw for £50 Sainsbury’s voucher.
